Regular pricing includes CMYK 4/0 print which, after die-cutting, folding and gluing, provides full colour print on all visible panels. The CS1026 CD Digipak is printed on our standard “tree hugger” white boardstock with semi-gloss finish:

  • 100% recyclable
  • 50% post-consumer waste
  • Forest Stewardshp Council (FSC) certified
  • Acid free

More Happy Customers!

August 11, 2010 predisc Leave a comment

It’s always great to hear back from clients so we thought that we’d share a few of our most recent testimonials with you!

“I would like to pass on many thanks to yourself and your team. You were all amazing throughout every step of the way. I’d also like to say a big big thank you for getting the product to us on time, for the EP release party. Precision Disc did a fantastic job, as always! And I will definitely be coming back again with MORE TIME to spare!”  ~  Disa C.

This client sent this comment to the members of his Professional Videographers Association:  “I just received 1000 replicated DVDs all packaged up and I’m really happy with the company that did it for me.  Precision Disc (http://www.predisc.com) is a company that has a manufacturing plant in Surrey, B.C.  I tried working with a local outfit that is an agent for a big replication house in eastern Canada. I had used them before but they have changed hands and the new owners haven’t got a clue. Precision Disc has a great system that keeps you up to speed on the progress of the job and they’re super easy to work with.  You can get a quote online very quickly unless your job is outside the normal in which case you just call them. Their prices were lower than I expected. If you have a replication job, these are your people!  I can’t recommend them highly enough.”  ~  Steve B.

“Thanks for all your hard work on my last project.  I’ve featured your company on my website, which is designed to help artists save money so they can continue to make art.”  ~  Punam

“I got my discs back, and I phoned… but wanted to follow up with an email as well. I just could NOT be any happier with how it all came out. It looks EXACTLY how I imagined. There is always so much room for disappointment in these matters, but, you guys did a magnificent job. Also, it was ready a bit early, and for that, I must say thank you! (anxious girl that I am). What a great surprise. For any future projects, I would not dream of going through anybody else. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over!”  ~  Kelly H.

Mini CD Manufacturing Services

July 28, 2010 predisc Leave a comment

We’re very fond of referring to the Mini CD as “a business card that can talk” but that’s actually selling the Mini CD short because it can do much more than simply “talk”.

By creating a dynamic multimedia presentation, you can use your Mini CD as a delivery vehicle to stimulate, educate, inspire and entertain your prospective clients in a way that traditional marketing materials such as brochures and literature cannot.

Similar in many ways to our CD Business Card, Precision Disc’s Mini CD can accommodate video, sound, graphics, text, all manner of documents and can connect to your website through the internet, thereby creating a powerful marketing message that you can conveniently and inexpensively delivery into the hands of your clients.

What’s the Difference Between Mini CD and Full Size CD

  • Mini CD manufacturing is exactly the same as manufacturing full size CDs.
  • Mini CDs operate exactly the same way that full size CDs operate.
  • Mini CDs are designed to be used in tray-loading disc drives.
  • The biggest visual difference is the size: Mini CD is 80mm in diameter.
  • The capacity is 180mb worth of content.
  • Mini CD is also available as Mini CDR but a different design template must be used.
  • Is viewed as being more unique and interesting than full size discs.
  • Has higher perceived value than full size discs.

So yes, the smaller size of these products will provides you with an eye-catching and unique method of delivering your message straight the hands of your prospective clients… it gets noticed… and you eliminate the need for bulky and expensive brochures and catalogs.

Use a Mini CD to put all of your business’s information in one compact package. This allows you to get your marketing and promotional materials to your prospective clients in the most efficient and cost effective way imaginable. Depending on quantity you can expect to pay less than $0.40 per unit for replicated discs supplied in bulk, and Precision Disc also offers some attractive and eco-friendly packaging solutions for your consideration.

Music CD Duplication Services

July 21, 2010 predisc Leave a comment

At Precision Disc we supply music CD Duplication services for clients throughout Canada and the U.S. when they either need a small quantity of music CDs, or they need their CDs in a hurry.

▪ What is CD duplication? You are probably more familiar with the phrase CD duplication than CD replication because duplication is actually the process that you can perform on your own home computer.

Simply stated, you use a computer program to copy your selected content onto a pre-manufactured CDR disc (the ‘R’ stands for ‘recordable’).

▪ The Benefits of CD Duplication? Because there is no specialized equipment or skill set required to duplicate CDs it’s a very cost-effective and convenient way to product small quantities of discs. The only possible down-side is that it’s not a particularly quick process unless you use a duplication tower that can copy several discs at the same time.

▪ Are Duplicated CDs Inferior? If you want the most professional, durable and quality disc you should consider CD replication, but due to there being a minimum quantity requirement (at Precision Disc our minimum order for replicated CDs is only 300 units) replication may not suit your needs or budget. If this is the case, there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing music CD duplication services as an alternative.

We want to dispel the notion that an inexpensive price means cheap quality, so when it comes to CD duplication we don’t deal with cheap no-name blank media. We only use quality CDRs and then we ‘burn’ them using state-of-the-art duplication towers at slow speed to ensure the best possible disc image.

Your graphics will be printed on your CDR discs with a commercial grade high-resolution CMYK inkjet printer, but you can upgrade your order to our Silkscreen Printing or CMYK Offset printing for a totally professional look, quality and durability (an upgrade cost may apply).

Copyright Relating to CD Duplication and DVD Duplication

July 12, 2010 predisc Leave a comment

What, exactly, is “Intellectual Property” and how does it relate to “copyright“?

For an answer that isn’t long-winded and full of legal jargon let’s look to Wikipedia which says:

“Intellectual property (IP) is a term referring to distinct types of ‘creations of the mind’ for which property rights are recognised – and the corresponding fields of law. Under intellectual property law, owners are granted certain exclusive rights to a variety of intangible assets, such as musical, literary, and artistic works; discoveries and inventions; and words, phrases, symbols, and designs. Common types of intellectual property include copyrights, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights and trade secrets in some jurisdictions.”

This is very important to note because, due to the legal aspects, you can violate copyright laws with your CD duplication or DVD duplication order if you are not the intellectual property rights owner of all content on your master. Violation of these copyright laws is generally referred to as ‘piracy’ and can be punishable in a court of law.

If you don’t own all of the intellectual property on your CD or DVD master you will need to get licensing for all unowned content and then provide proof of licensing to the company doing the CD duplication or DVD duplication of your order.

How Long Does Copyright Last For In The U.S.A.?

● The following is based on information provided by Stanford University

How long copyright lasts depends on which country you are in. In the U.S., for works published after 1977, the copyright lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years. However, if the work is a work for hire (that is, the work is done in the course of employment or has been specifically commissioned) or is published anonymously or under a pseudonym, the copyright lasts between 95 and 120 years, depending on the date the work is published.

All works published in the United States before 1923 are in the public domain.

Works published after 1922, but before 1978 are protected for 95 years from the date of publication.

If the work was created, but not published, before 1978, the copyright lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years. However, even if the author died over 70 years ago, the copyright in an unpublished work lasts until December 31, 2002. And if such a work is published before December 31, 2002, the copyright will last until December 31, 2047.

How Long Does Copyright Last For In Canada?

● The following is based on information provided by University of Waterloo

How long copyright lasts depends on which country you are in. In Canada, copyright generally lasts for the life of the author, plus 50 years.

By contrast, in the U.S. and Europe, copyright generally lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years, though it can differ depending on factors such as the type of work, the manner of publication and the date of creation. Generally, use of a work in Canada is governed by the Canadian rules for the duration of copyright protection.

What Is CD DVD Replication?

June 4, 2010 predisc 1 comment

The difference between CD DVD Duplication and CD DVD Replication tends to cause confusion with clients. To some, the end result may not seem to be noticeable or of any consequence, but the processes and the final product are actually very different.

The difference is important to know when you’re preparing a project, because the difference between CD DVD Duplication and CD DVD Replication affects price, the product turn-time and the quality.

In short, “replication” is a manufacturing process that creates CD and DVD discs from scratch with the data being integral to the discs when they are made.

This is much different to “duplication” which uses pre-manufactured CDR and DVDR discs (the “R” stands for “recordable”) that have the data content added to the disc after the fact.

The Benefits of CD DVD Replication:

  • Higher quality data image than CD duplication or DVD duplication.
  • More resilient and greater durability than duplicated discs.
  • No playback issues.
  • More cost-effective in larger quantities.
  • Perceived as the standard for professional quality by consumers.
